Galería Toloache is an autonomous gallery that cultivates art from
the grassroots up. Like the flower from which it takes its name,
Galería Toloache is hallucinogen, medicine, and love potion.
Curated by a growing group of LGBTQ+ migrants of color, the
gallery seeks to create a real alternative to mainstream cultural
institutions that appropriate our queer aesthetics and profit from
our indigenous cultures, while refusing to fight for our safety or
liberation.

Using popular education, guided meditation, screen printing and altar-making, I helped Trans Queer Pueblo members bring to life the fictionalized figure of the "Patron Saint of Sex Workers". Poster by Kate Tutaya.

Praise for ¡Wáchale! FilmFest:
¡Wáchale! Cine Callejero brings new releases and classic hits from Latin America and the Third World to historically Black and Latinx neighborhoods in Phoenix. The program spotlights the narratives of queer and trans people of color, while creating a space for audiences to commune and transform. ¡Wáchale! carries into the future the “Liberation Cinema” of 1960s/70s Argentina, Brazil, and Cuba, where leftist groups insisted on film screenings as events to transform spectators into political actors.
